Institutionalized

The "Institutionalized" comic follows the life of asylum patient Ziggy and his mentally-distressed friends, like Ted The Crazy Bunny Guy and Heather the pyromaniac. Ziggy's mom put him in Brightside Mental Institution when he was seventeen for violently assulting a Yoohoo machine (among other things). Well, it's been four years since then and he still doesn't think that he belongs there.

Ziggy's evil plot to escape the asylum.

Here we see Ziggy using an abandon handycap bathroom stall as a cover-up for him to dig out using only a plastic spoon. Maybe he's not crazy, but he's deffinately stupid...

ziggyandheather.jpg

Ziggy's first encounter with Heather.

In the issue that this scene is from, Heather had just been sent to live at Brightside after the asylum she was in "mysteriously" burnt down. While she's there, she gives Ziggy someone to talk to.

Heather.

Heather is sharing her thoughts on vegitarianism...

"How do you take her abuse?"

Ted wonders how Ziggy puts up with Heather. Ziggy has a pretty good description...

Antoher early drawing of Ziggy.

Here's my third drawing of Ziggy. Here he's gotten in trouble, and has been put in a straight jacket. He's not too happy.

Ted, the Crazy Bunny Guy!

Not my first picture of Ted, but one of my coolest. I've come to find out that no two pictures of Ted look alike. As for his background story: Ted used to tend rabbits for a company. He looked after them with all the love and care in the world! One day, however, Ted found out what those rabbits were used for; FUR! Dressed in a bunnny suit, Ted fought the system! He was commited a day later...

babyziggyandheather.jpg

Baby Ziggy and Heather!

Even then, Heather was mean to Ziggy. Well, not really. I just drew them together because it has to do with the series. Actually, Ziggy and Heather met as adults. This is probably what it would've been like, though, had they met in childhood.

ziggyvsraccoon.jpg

Ziggy battling a raccoon for a half-eaten turkey sandwhich.

Ziggy's getting into surviving out in the wilderness! As you can see, he's not very good at it. That's probably because he's out of the insane asylum...

Heather showing Ziggy some love.

Hmm....looks like Ziggy got a little more of Heather than he bargained for...

wedgieziggy.jpg

Heather giving Ziggy an atomic wedgie.

Honestly, aren't you guys out there glad that Heather's not YOUR girlfriend?

sketchziggy.jpg

An early drawing of Ziggy.

It's not my first drawing of Ziggy, but it IS my second. I was still getting used to drawing him here, so he might be a little sloppy looking...

firstziggy.jpg

My first picture of Ziggy

Though now out of order, here's my very FIRST drawing of Ziggy! He doesn't look much different, but his head looks a little funny in this one. I think he also got shorter and...if possible...skinnier. Pretty cool.

stevetheambulanceguy.jpg

Steve, the Ambulance Guy!

Another tragic Brightside Mental Institution patient...Steve. Steve was once an ambulance driver. Ironically, he was unexpectedly in a car wreck that caused him mental damage. Instead of thinking he is an ambulance driver, Steve now thinks that he is an ambulance itself!
